Mental Health, according to SAMHSA   is a state of mental well-being that enables people to cope with the stresses of life, realize their abilities, learn well and work well, and contribute to their community. It is an integral component of health and well-being that underpins our individual and collective abilities to make decisions, build relationships and shape the world we live in. In other words, Mental health is a term used to describe emotional, psychological, and social well-being. Depression: a thief of joy

Depression is a common mental health disorder that affects millions of people worldwide. It is a serious condition that can impact a person's thoughts, feelings, and behavior. Depression can make it difficult for a person to enjoy life, take care of themselves, and connect with others. The effects of depression can be long-lasting or recurrent and can dramatically affect a person’s ability to function and live a rewarding life.  According to  WHO ,  An estimated 3.8% of the population experience depression, including 5% of adults (4% among men and 6% among women), and 5.7% of adults older than 60 years.
